Autumn in Nepal

Just returned from almost 6 weeks in Nepal leading two treks in the Khumbu region. The first was to Everest Base Camp and Kalla Patthar, the second was a special bespoke trip organised by Jagged Globe to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Silver Hut research expedition, which was the first extensive research done on how altitude effects the body, of obvious interest to mountaineers. It was also on this expedition that Ama Dablam was first climbed on the 13 March 1961.

On this trek was Dr Jim Milledge, foremost scientist on the research end and also Norman Hardie who was amongst the first ascenionists on Kanchenchunga (8586m) on May 25th 1955.

Zermatt 2011

A short trip to the Pennine Alps this September. First time standing underneath the Matterhorn, she was not going to let us have our way. Settled for the Breithorn and Alalinhorn. Back to Nepal in Oct/Nov for some Everest and Ama Dablam views

Kilimanjaro Pilgrimage

Just returned from 5 weeks leading teams on Kili. Ended up summiting 5 times in 4 weeks. Tough proposition but became easier after the 4th time. Great in country support from Ahsante Tours.

Cornwall Climbing

 In an effort to go from over 6000m to sea level in a week, we went down to Cornwall for some climbing at the Lizard. Windy conditions but really great to catch up with some of the crazies from the Bude days. Cornwall is, in my opinion, one of the best places to climb in the U.K. Thanks to Emma for the photos.

Success on Mera Peak (6476m)

Just returned from my 3rd Nepal trip having led an Expedition to Mera Peak for Jagged Globe. A successful trip with 6 out of 11 reaching the summit with me at 0.800 on April 30th. We used Summit Nepal Trekking in country and they are an amzing bunch of people. Thanks to Dawa Sarki Nosang and Darinji for all their hard work.
